Dusting
Dusting is the most important step of the cleaning process. Over time an area rug collects dust, dirt, and debris, which can dull and scratch fibers. Although regular vacuuming can remove some of the particulates close to the surface, a vacuum is not powerful enough to remove dirt that is deeply imbedded in the foundation of the rug. The Wolverine soil separator is used to gently dislodge the dirt and dust out of your rug before it is washed.
Note: Articles have been published in the Ann Arbor News, the Ann Arbor Observer, and the Washtenaw County Business Review about a machine, the Soil Separator, designed by Tom Monahan, owner of Wolverine Carpet and Furniture Cleaners. This one-of-kind machine and its smaller version, the Wolverine, do an equally good job of dusting―removing particulates from an area rug.
