Four things you MUST DO in a Flood or Water Damage situation

  1. Think safety! Turn off electricity to the area and NEVER enter a wet area where the possibility of electrical current exists. Be careful of wet ceiling tiles and drywall that may fall.
  2. Turn off or remove the source of water. At times a plumber may be required to assist in shutting off broken pipes and valves. (Raw sewage is a serious health hazard, and we suggest that you leave the premise as soon as possible if you have a raw sewage problem.)
  3. Remove manageable furniture from the area. Place wax paper or aluminum foil under the remaining furniture legs. This may stop transfer of color dyes to the floor and may prevent rust if acted on quickly.
